THE CENTRE FOR PARTICIPATORY DEVELOPMENT STUDIES

The Centre For Participatory Development Studies (CPDS) is an academic arm of Participatory Development Centre (PDC) that is charged with the delivery of short and long term development training programmes. It seeks to deliver quality and market oriented training courses in Sub Saharan Africa. The training programmes target those working with the governmental agencies, NGOs, Faith Based Organisations (FBOs), CBOs, Civil Society among others.

Purpose of the Diploma Programs

The diploma program is designed to produce qualified community workers / professsionals with knowledge, practical skills and positive attitudes necessary to identify opportunities, manage and solve societal challenges towards holistic human development.

MODE OF STUDY

The Training is designed in four modes of learning as outlined below:

1. Full Time
Students attend classes daily i.e Monday to Friday. Practical learning sessions are held with periodic
field visits to developent projects.

2. Part Time
Learners will attend evening and Saturday classes

3. Distant Learning
Learners will recieve reading materials on each unit (covering at least 3 units per semester), with three
academic dialogues workshops held in April, August and December. This is an opportunity
for students to have a one-on-one interactive learning experiences with their lecturers and fellow students.

4. E-Learning
Students will download learning materials from the institution’s website (covering at least 3 units per
semester). They will interact and be lectured by seasoned trainers via the internet on a regular basis.
